The RMS Queen Mary’s maiden voyage happened in 1936. The Ship Started as a British Ocean Liner. After the start of WW2, the ship was used to transport troops. Once the war was over, it resumed its operations as an ocean liner. In the 1950s, it was acquired by an American company. When it started to make a yearly loss for the company, it was permanently moored in Long Beach, California. Since then, the ship has been turned into a significant tourist attraction. The boat now has a Hotel, restaurant, and a museum.

Ever Since the Ship was moored, there have been reports of hauntings. During the many Trans-Atlantic crossings, there was a reported 49 recorded deaths. However, It is said that there are over 150 different spirits that call the ship home.

The ship has many haunted locations; one of these is Room B340. In 1948 Walter J. Adamson was staying in the room. He was later found dead due to unknown causes. Since then, people staying in the room have reported knocking on the door, their covers being pulled off, and the light being turned on and off. Boiler Room number 4 is another haunted location. Many people have reported seeing a little girl; she is often holding a doll or sucking her thumb. Along with this, a lady in white often appears in the luxury sweets that is often seen dancing by herself.

One night in 1966, there was an order to close all water-tight doors for the engine and boiler rooms. Later that night, some crew members found one of their crew members crushed to death in hatch number 13; sadly, he was only 18. Since his untimely death, people have reported a man that looks like him appears in the corner of their sight. They also say a man whistling behind them or grease marks appearing on their face. The swimming pool in first class is also known to be extremely haunted. Many guests report a little girl, a young boy in a suit, and an old lady. Some of the other things you can encounter on the ship are random screams, children crying, multiple people in late 1930s clothes, and much more.

The ship is in the top 10 for most haunted hotels in the world. Currently, the RMS Queen Mary is closed. The vessel is undergoing much-needed renovations and will hopefully be open to the public in late 2022.
